Senapati, Sep. 8 (EMN): In a transfer to sensitise media individuals to have an excellent grasp on problems with HIV/AIDS, a sooner or later media sensitisation programme on ‘Newly Adopted HIV/AIDS (Prevention & Management) Act 2017’ was held at Mao/Poumai catholic neighborhood corridor in Senapati district on Wednesday.
Organised by the KTT, Manipur with the help of MSACS, the workshop was attended by Khelen Thokchom Belief (KTT) president Robert Sapam, Assistant Director IEC & Mainstreaming Phanjoubam Lanngamba, IEC & Mainstreaming Omajit Leishangthem and state Focused Intervention (TI) coordinator Ksh Deepak of Manipur State AIDS Management Society(MSACS).
Talking on the event, Deepak mentioned that 9 out of sixteen districts of Manipur are excessive class districts whereas the remaining seven districts are in reasonable class.
“This development exhibits that HIV/AIDS continues to be a priority for the border state,” mentioned Deepak. He mentioned that presently 54 NGOs are taking on TI programmes via 63 built-in council and testing centres, 59 Opioid Substitution Remedy centres and 13 Antiretroviral remedy centres throughout the state. Assistant Director IEC and Mainstreaming Lanngamba, IEC & Mainstreaming Omajit additionally spoke in Media ethics on HIV & AIDS reporting and HIV & AIDS (Prevention & Management)Act 2017.
